"I've gone to biscuit heaven..."

July 6 (Monday)-Franklin, TN
Day 5
The multiple alarms that rang at 7am were quickly turned off and everyone snoozed soundly for another two hours.

Loveless Motel and Cafe
8400 Highway 100 Nashville, TN
By 10.30 all the campers and family congregated at the Loveless Motel and Café. We met the “Biscuit Lady” who was recently featured on the Conan O’Brian show.

During the 20 min wait the campers played with their LEGOs and the rest walked around the “Ham & Jam” country store, the artist’s gallery and other shops. Once seated and our drink orders made a plate of a dozen biscuits and three preserves (blackberry, strawberry and apricot) appeared as quickly as chips ‘n salsa appear at any Tex-Mex table.

There isn’t any point in writing about the rest of the food that was consumed…the biscuits and blackberry jam (as it should be, just fruit and sugar) were heavenly.

Biscuits Consumed…
Camp Director: 2 biscuits with blackberry jam
Camp Daddy: 5.5 biscuits with apricot, strawberry, blackberry jam and sausage gravy
Big Camper: 7.25 biscuits with honey
Little Camper: 3 biscuits with blackberry jam (eventually just used fingers to eat the jam)

Although we ordered the family style breakfast sampler: eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, potatoes, sausage gravy, and hash brown casserole everyone went back for more biscuits and Camp Daddy got the sampler mostly to himself.

We were 4 hours late heading out of town but it was well worth visiting biscuit heaven. On our way back through Nashville we are stopping there again!
